The Department of Physical Education commenced its functioning synchronously with the inception of St. Michael’s College. Since then, the department has been persistently providing ample facilities for athletics, games, indoor activities, and martial arts on the campus. Physical education and sports not only supplement academics but also become significant components of holistic education. It is with these core principles that the department has been functioning throughout these years. The college cherishes a very proud tradition of sports and it can claim among its alumni sportsmen of national and international reputation, including an Arjuna Award Recipient. St. Michael’s College tops the list in the case of sports achievements among the colleges under the University of Kerala. The college has its own 400-meter track, indoor stadium, well-organized multi-gymnasium, badminton court, basketball court, etc. on the campus. All students are allowed to make use of the exclusive facilities for their better mental and physical health
