Parent Teacher Association

Parent Teacher Association is a formal organisation of the college intended to facilitate parental participation in the College activities. The association works towards the welfare of students, provide support for enhancing quality of teaching and learning process and the improvement in the infrastructural facilities of the college. The working of the Association promotes good relationship among the members of the teaching staff, students and parents. The Association helps to maintain good discipline on the campus and ensure improvement in the standards of infrastructural facilities.

Parents of all students in the roll and all permanent teachers on roll constitute the General Body of the Association and it is the supreme authority. An annual meeting of the general body is held at the end of every academic year. An executive committee is elected from the General Body to administer the Association. The executive committee consisted of a President (Principal), Vice- President (Parent), Secretary (Permanent Teacher), Joint Secretary (Parent), Treasure (Permanent Teacher), four parents and four teachers.

ACTIVITIES OF PTA

General body meeting (09.02.2023)

The annual General Body of PTA 2022-‘23 was held on 9 th February 2023 in the College Auditorium. The Vice-president of PTA welcomed the gathering. The principal Dr. Sindhu S Nair presided over and the College Manager Rev. Fr. Nelson Taiparambil delivered a keynote speech. The Secretary Ms. Seena Elizabeth George read the annual report and Treasurer Sri. Binil K P explicated the PTA accounts. Dr. Antony Kuriakose read the account audit report and the formal meeting was completed with a vote of thanks by Sri. Sam Johnson. Thereafter new executive committee for the academic year 202-’24 was elected from the GB as below.

Executive Committee Meeting (14.03.2023)

First executive committee meeting of the PTA 2023-’24 was held on 10 th March 2023 at 3 pm in the Board Room. The Secretary Dr. Antony P.J. welcomed the members and President Dr. Sindhu S Nair delivered presidential speech. The way of working of St. Michael’s college PTA was explained to all the new members. Requests from Science Club and Department of Zoology were also considered for financial support. The meeting ended at .30 pm by a vote of thanks by Smt. Minnu Mathew.

Executive committee meeting (29.03.2023)

The second executive committee meeting of the PTA 2023-’24 was held on 29 th March 2023 at 3 pm in the Board Room. The Secretary Dr. Antony P.J. welcomed the members and President Dr. Sindhu S Nair delivered presidential speech. The financial status of the PTA was explained to the members and request from IQAC was discussed. The request from IQAC for financial support to conduct the green audit of the campus was considered positively.

SUPPORTS GIVEN BY PTA

  • Financial support of Rs. 5000/- given to Science Club for the conduct of a field trip to NIST, Trivandrum with the science students.
  • Financial support of Rs. 5000/- given to the Department of Zoology for the conduct of state level seminar on Biodiversity Awareness.
  • Financial support is sanctioned for the conduct of Green Audit of the College campus as part of the preparations for the upcoming NAAC visit.
