The Centralized Internal Examination System in the college helps to streamline the assessment process and ensure fairness, transparency, and efficiency in conducting internal examinations. This system replaces the traditional decentralized approach where each department or faculty conducted its own examinations independently. The Centralized Internal Examination System brings all the internal examinations under a centralized authority, usually a dedicated examination cell or department. It involves the coordination and management of examinations for various courses and programs offered by the college. This system is designed to ensure consistent evaluation standards and provide a level playing field for all students. By centralizing the examination process, the system ensures uniformity in examination patterns, question papers, grading criteria, and evaluation methods across all departments and faculties. This eliminates any biases or discrepancies that may arise due to variations in assessment practices. The system improves efficiency by reducing duplication of efforts and resources. Instead of each department or faculty separately preparing question papers, conducting exams, and evaluating answer sheets, a centralized body manages these tasks. It streamlines administrative processes, saves time, and optimizes the use of manpower and infrastructure. The centralized approach promotes transparency in the examination system. The system facilitates efficient data management and record-keeping. It maintains a centralized database of student results, allowing easy access to academic records, grade reports, and performance analysis. This enables quick retrieval of information and provides a comprehensive overview of student performance. By implementing a centralized system, the college can strengthen academic integrity and discourage malpractice. The centralized internal examination system enables to gather feedback from students and faculty, which can be used for continuous improvement. It ensures that the assessment process is conducted in a fair, consistent, and systematic manner, benefiting both students and the institution as a whole.
The Centralized Internal Examination Cell for each academic year is constituted by the Principal of the college. At the beginning of every academic year, in consultation with the college council, the cell prepares a tentative examination schedule. This schedule takes into account the requirements of each department and faculty. Prior to the University semester exam, the conduct of internal examinations for each semester is decided after thorough discussions with the college council. The examination cell takes into consideration various factors such as the availability of faculty members, infrastructure, and other logistical considerations. Once finalized, the examination cell ensures that the time table, room allotment, and invigilation duty charts are prepared and circulated well in advance. The examination cell sends out notifications of the examinations, intimation for question paper setting, consolidation of mark sheets, absentees’ statement, and publication of results via email to all the departments ensuring that relevant information reaches the concerned faculty members and students on time. The involvement of the college council in decision-making processes ensures that all stakeholders have a say in the examination planning.
